Yarrrrrrrrr! We are back with a Pirate themed podcast as we sit down and watch Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl with a rum-based meal to go with it. We sail right into the history around Pirates of the Caribbean and the Disney ride that inspired the movie series and the long con Disney has played on everyone being that the movie has been in production since the public opening of the Disneyland ride. From there we talk about the Caribbean and the Rum-based meal we created to go with this movie after all rum “is a vile drink that turns even the most respectable men into complete scoundrels.” The repetitive nature of the rum in our dishes is a perfect segue into the writing of the film and the joke structure that is so pervasive throughout the movie. To follow-up the structure of the film we talk about the impact the movie had and our initial experiences of watching Curse of the Black Pearl and how the movie has changed over time. Somehow all of this culminates in us dreaming about what our favorite crossover films would be and how we imagine Fifty Shades of Furious would play out as a series. Thank you for joining us on another episode of the Munch Podcast we would love it if you could rate, comment and subscribe as it helps us out greatly in trying to reach a larger audience.
